Ο Χρόνης Μπότσογλου γεννήθηκε το 1941 στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Η κλίση του προς τη ζωγραφική τον οδήγησε σε μαθήματα ζωγραφικής ήδη από τα μαθητικά του χρόνια, ενώ το 1960 εγκαταστάθηκε στην Αθήνα και μαθήτευσε το εργαστήριο του Πάνου Σαραφιανού. Την ίδια χρονιά μπαίνει στο προκαταρκτικό της Α.Σ.Κ.Τ. με δάσκαλο τον Γ. Μαυροΐδη και το 1961 με υποτροφία του Ι.Κ.Υ. εισάγεται στην Α.Σ.Κ.Τ. και ξεκινά να φοιτά στο εργαστήριο του Γ. Μόραλη. Έλαβε μέρος σε μια σειρά εκθέσεων όντας ακόμη φοιτητής, ενώ το 1964 πραγματοποίησε την πρώτη του ατομική έκθεση στο Κέντρο Τεχνολογικών Εφαρμογών. Το 1970 μετέβη στο Παρίσι με υποτροφία του Ι.Κ.Υ. για να συνεχίσει τις σπουδές του στην Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts, και την επόμενη χρονιά συστήνουν μαζί με τους Γ. Βαλαβανίδη, Κ. Δίγκα, Κ. Κατζουράκη και Γ. Ψυχοπαίδη, την ομάδα «Νέοι Έλληνες Ρεαλιστές», η οποία παρουσίασε έργα στην Ελλάδα κατά την περίοδο της δικτατορίας. Το 1989 εκλέχθηκε καθηγητής στην Α.Σ.Κ.Τ., όπου δίδαξε έως το 2008, ενώ την περίοδο 2001-2005 διετέλεσε Πρύτανης. Παράλληλα με το καλλιτεχνικό του έργο ασχολήθηκε με τη συγγραφή κειμένων και την εικονογράφηση βιβλίων και ποιητικών συλλογών. Εξέθεσε το έργο του σε μια σειρά ατομικών και ομαδικών εκθέσεων στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό και συμμετείχε σε μεγάλες διεθνείς διοργανώσεις (Μπιενάλε του Sao Paulo (1969).
Πέθανε το 2022 στην Αθήνα.

Chronis Botsoglou was born in 1941 in Thessaloniki. His inclination towards painting led him to take painting lessons from his school days, while in 1960 he moved to Athens and studied in the studio of Panos Sarafianos. In the same year he entered the preliminary course of the A.S.K.T. with G. In 1961, with a scholarship from the I.K.Y., he entered the A.S.K.T. and began studying in the laboratory of G. Sarafanian. He started his studies at the G.Moralis Institute in Athens, where he graduated in 1961 and began his studies at the G.Moralis Institute. He took part in a series of exhibitions while still a student, while in 1964 he held his first solo exhibition at the Centre for Technological Applications. In 1970 he went to Paris on a scholarship from the I.C.Y. to continue his studies at the Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts, and the following year he and G. Morais set up a studio in Paris, where he exhibited his first exhibition of his own work. He went on to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Athens, where he joined G. Valavanidis, K. Diga, K. K. Katzourakis and G. G. D. Dingas, K. K. Katzourakis and G. G. G. D. D. D. Psychopedis, the group "Young Greek Realists", which presented works in Greece during the dictatorship period. In 1989 he was elected professor at the A.S.K.T., where he taught until 2008, while in the period 2001-2005 he served as Rector. Alongside his artistic work, he was involved in writing texts and illustrating books and poetry collections. He exhibited his work in a series of solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad and participated in major international events (Sao Paulo Biennale (1969).
He died in 2022 in Athens.
